Swabs
1) Standard Swab, STS-100
This swab has a tear shaped bud (13/64" diameter) that is comparable to swabs routinely used in the marketplace. The bud is attached to a plastic shaft. The swab can be used to collect liquids, moist samples or surface specimens.
2) Plastic Shaft Universal Swab PUS-100
This swab has a tear shaped bud (3/32” diameter) that is larger than a nasopharyngeal swab bud but smaller than a Standard Swab bud. The swab can be used to collect samples from any surface, but particularly samples from small human orifices. Particularly useful for environmental sampling.
3) Wire Shaft Universal Swab, WUS-100
This swab is the same as the Plastic Shaft Universal swab except the bud is attached to a stainless steel wire, which in turn is attached to a plastic handle. This product can be used in the same way as the Plastic Shaft Universal swab.
4) Large Bud Swab, LBS-100
The bud size and shape of this swab can vary based on the application and specific customer requirements. The swab is usually cylindrical in shape and can be used to sample larger volumes of liquid or greater surface areas. Contact Oasis Diagnostics™ for specific information.
5) Collection Brush, CB-100
The Oasis Diagnostics™ Collection Brush consists of a cylindrical brush (1/4” x 3/4”) attached to a plastic handle. The brush is used to slough specimen samples away from a collection site and hold the material for examination / testing (epithelial cells, etc.). Other brush shapes are available. 6) Ejector Swab 2, EJ-200
As in most of the Oasis Diagnostics™ swabs, the bud size of this swab may vary depending on specific customer requirements. The important characteristic is that the bud may be removed from the shaft after sample collection and dropped into a specified container without human intervention. 7) Lighted Collection Swab LCB-100
A modified Plastic Shaft Universal Swab is attached to a portable hand-held light source that lights up the collection site as a sample is being collected. The person collecting the sample can visualize the site clearly and remove an optimum specimen for further investigation.
8) Dual Swab DS-001
Two different color-coded swabs packaged together.
9) Medium-Sized Dacron Swab MS-001
Intermediate in size between the "Large Bud Swab" and the "Standard Swab."
